Scifi is when you get shot by a blaster bolt

Fantasy is when you take an arrow to the knee

If there’s magic, supernatural powers, or a force of any kind, it’s Science Fantasy

So we are living in science fantasy. No one has any idea where the four fundamental forces come from. They just “exist” like magical forces.

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

      Arthur C. Clarke

Corrollary: Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced.

    Humans - Humans (duh)

Vulcans - Elves / High Elves

Romuluans - Dark Elves / Blood Elves

    Klingons - Orcs

    Andorians - Ice Elves

This is as much as I could come up with.

      This checks out.

Who would be the dwarves? Ferengi?

I separate by the mechanics at play: do supernatural things exist in places they do not exist in reality (humans doing telekinesis, mind reading for example… Or outright magic like the force)? If yes, it’s likely fantasy.
