President Trump, whose trade war with China has rattled financial markets and threatened to disrupt huge swaths of trade, suggested on Friday that he has been in touch with Xi Jinping, China’s president, even as officials in China insist that no negotiations are occurring.

The same guy who pretends to wave at imaginary crowds when cameras are on him? Hard to believe he’d be dishonest.

    Ha ha.

Similar things happened during his first term, too. He lies about the topics of a meeting, and if the meeting even happened.

It’s ironic (moronic) that he would have more time to golf and have more support if he could stay quiet instead of putting out verifiable lies that no one asked for.

Yeah! The President of the United States lying about having a conversation with the leader of a foreign country that he’s stupidly started a trade war with is in no way news worthy! /s

Or - “China lying about not being in talks with the US”.

This is he said they said BS. Not news.

Just because Trump is a liar doesn’t mean China is not. Jesus people, you understand that both sides can be bad right?

It is news if you’re interested in the stock market. If you’re just looking to be informed then the headline would be ‘US President lies to public about progress on trade negotiations’.
