Actually, we need some new language to describe what Bluesky is. Federations are geopolitical alliances between equals. But Bluesky instances are centralised, with one relay acting as a truth source for many PDS servers. So to extend the analogy with a hierarchical geopolitical alliance… well that’s an empire. Most of the “reading people” done by neurodivergent people (especially former abuse victims) is simply developing the ability to diagnose people with the same disordered traits as their abuser. For example, if your abuser suffered from anger issues, it’s quickly identifying when a stranger struggles with anger.

Looks like the nice people, the canadians, the LGBT, the trans people, the furries, the new zealanders, the programmers, the germans, and the environmentalists defederated with Hexbear, in terms of instances that have a strong theming. The only common trend I can identify between those groups is that they all tend left of center. Except perhaps the germans, given current events.
