I picked up Lawnchair when I de-googled my phone a bit more than a year ago. There were a couple launchers I considered, but honestly the name is what sold me. And I haven’t missed Nova since.

How brave, using Google Chrome to protest Microsoft… with an extension that only changes things locally. I promise that Microsoft doesn’t care one iota about you renaming things to Microslop with an extension. This is like proudly calling yourself a protester because you hung a sign up in your room where nobody else can see it. I guess it could annoy them a tiny bit if they see it become really popular I guess?
In other news, it’s really funny seeing an AI summary at the top of this article.

Was expecting to see “install Linux” in one of the spoilers. Nice to see actual help.

The day he says something I agree with is the day I reevaluate everything I believe.

Sometimes we gotta think about our wants and think are they really a need? Or can we get by with less till the alternatives can get better.
It’s not really that simple. I don’t need to convince my entire friend group to switch to Lemmy in order to get some use out of it. Best I can do is convince people to use modded discord clients like vencord and aliucord for most nitro features instead of paying for it.
I believe they were talking about meta’s literal smart glasses being ugly, not their VR headsets. They look really silly, the frame is way too thick.
I actually think the Quests are some of the better looking headsets.
Come on now, I think everyone’s tried the ol’ teeth-with-pliers trick at least once in their life.

Perhaps, but my only point is that the CEO likely isn’t pro-trump. I’ve seen zero evidence for that aside from him publicly supporting a single decision the guy made.

Andy Yen (the CEO) supported one single choice trump made, because he felt it would be good for little tech and bad for big tech. He never stated he supported trump or even the republican party as a whole. The whole thing got blown out of the water by redditors attacking the comment with no regard to context because every single thing a republican (and especially trump) does has to be evil, even if it’s good for us. Ignoring the fact that Proton has publicly criticized trump on a number of occasions and donates millions to liberal organizations.
Here’s a great analysis made with sources and reasoning provided throughout the whole thing, with the author ultimately concluding that they believe Andy is far more likely to be a liberal than pro-trump or MAGA. Again, with actual sources and reasoning rather than one context-less tweet.

TIL it’s okay for kids to die if they’re privileged.
Why is proton consistently red in the pricing category despite being cheaper than (or on par with) other options like mozilla which is consistently yellow? Am I misreading this as green = good, red = bad?

Tentacles, yeah that’s probably a more niche kink. But cat boys/girls? I don’t know a single person who wouldn’t consider that an upgrade.

Several of them are from the OP alone. Look at their post history, and at least the last three posts have dedicated a sentence or two on calling GrapheneOS bad.

Three out of four of the paragraphs in the article’s solution were spent convincing people of the benefits to buying premium. Still feels like an ad despite the tiny mention of uBlock Origin at the very bottom.
I do agree that Youtube, premium isn’t bad value. But I refuse to support google or youtube directly with my money. If I ever want to support a creator, I can throw them a couple dollars on patreon and help them far more than buying premium ever would have.
At that point a cheat code to enable godmode achieves the same purpose and still gives you player agency, unlike an AI taking over. Or just an accessibility option to skip boss fights. We really don’t need to reinvent the wheel here with AI.
