About 12,700 workers will be on strike at three Ford, GM and Stellantis facilities, the UAW said.

Key proposals from the union have included 40% hourly pay increases, a reduced 32-hour work week, a shift back to traditional pensions, the elimination of compensation tiers and a restoration of cost-of-living adjustments (COLA), among other items on the table including enhanced retiree benefits and enhanced vacation and family leave benefits.

I hope they get it all. 32 hour work day and return to traditional pensions would be huge.

If the UAW can get a 32-hour week, that would be a MASSIVE step in getting it done for the rest of the work force. It would be a perfect example of how unions benefit all workers, not just the ones actually in the union.

Can’t they just buy their own carbonated drinks?

Obviously they want company coolers of it, right next to the water.

I stand in solidarity and am curious about the efficacy of this “Stand-Up” approach to striking. It sounds brilliant and could change the way unions around the world operate.
