    You can’t know a recession is happening until after it’s already happened. It’s defined as two consecutive quarters with negative growth, meaning you won’t know until 6 months after it began.

      Fair enough. That’s a good fact to keep in mind. Been so long since I experienced a recession that I guess I didn’t fully appreciate what the term meant. The last time one happened I was isolated from civilization and didn’t really know it was happening.
