Dog whistling is easier than governing. Especially when your economic policies are universally unpopular (and a scam).

Yeah, it’s just another political football like abortion that either side can use to drum up support and fundraise with.

Tell that to all the women who want to get an abortion but can’t because the only thing protecting that right was a court ruling in a single case rather than an actual law approved by congress and signed by the president.

I’m far from a centrist, and you seem to be under the misconception that both of these parties aren’t representing the right.

Yeah you’re right. We have former Democrat Donald Trump as president again because the Democratic party is so altruistic and beyond reproach and has done so much to help the average American with their time in office. Republicans are bad guys therefore, by default, the Democrats are the good guys regardless of their actions or the mountain of evidence to the contrary.

And by fighting you mean “talking about how concerned they are on TV” but doing nothing about it at any other point in time?

Every Dem representative just voted with all but two Republican representatives to pass a bill restricting speech online that Trump stated he would use to silence his critics. It had previously passed in the Senante and is now headed to Trump’s desk. Seems like they have no problem working together in solidarity to curtail our rights. It’s just all that pesky legislation that helps average people that turns things into what resembles a WWE match where everyone is playing a part.

Moron. Who do you think is responsible for civil rights of women and black Americans? You live in a cartoon reality. Go be a kid somewhere else.

I “live in a cartoon reality” while you’re here telling me that the Democratic politicians of 2025 are responsible for legislation from 1920 and 1964? That’s insane.

Two reasons. The first is that Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

And they make sure they are in the first group by shoving other people into the second.

The second reason is that they have the sort of mind that believes in Absolute Order. Everything has a Place, a very rigid set of rules that define what it is, how it can act, and what it can do. If something/someone is Out Of Place, then the very fabric of society will weaken and eventually crumble.

LGBTQ people don’t fit in the boxes labeled ‘proper woman’ and ‘proper man’, so they must be destroyed lest they cause society itself to collapse.

Gotta protect “the sanctity of marriage” and all that. If we let gays get/stay married, the divorce rate might dip under 45%!

More like if we let gays get married the women-folk might have an option beyond being trapped in a marriage to a potentially abusive husband (them) the way God™ intended.

That’s what they’re scared of. That women might choose to be alone or “be gay” rather than be with them.
