I’m a programmer, I’ve used StackOverflow for a while, for questioning and answering.

The thing is, the IT area is full of stupid people, simple as that, there’s no fancy answer.

This area attract people who just want money and more money, they don’t care about anything.

I’ve known terrible workmates while working on this area, if you have good moral and ethical values, it’ll be tough. If you’re an asshole you’ll feel at home. Now, I do freelance only, can’t handle those people. Barely can survive like that, but I prefer this over a good salary and be rounded by a bunch of assholes.

I’m so alone that back in time I wished I had schizophrenia and a real-imaginary friend to talk with.

I download the song once using yt-dlp, then I use Musicbrainz Picard to fetch song metadata like author, cover, title, year etc… Then I listen 100% offline in any mp3 player app.

I send my songs encrypted to pCloud free tier (gpg) just to keep a backup somewhere else.

In other words, not a single online service on earth know what I’m listening to.

I gave up on friendship, instead I focused on handling my own feelings, meditating, learning about them. It’s not easy, I always had to deal with loneliness, my whole life, but then I had to make a decision, keep suffering or learn how to deal with it.

Today I don’t miss anyone most of the time, I’m just alone, no girlfriend, no friends. It’s still a work in progress tho, not easy to surpass the loneliness feeling.

I think you still can have a Linux phone with GNOME, there’s a GNOME version for mobile.

After all, what is a smartphone? Just a convenient computer that can make calls.
