My 2017 Shield pro is starting to die and I’m dreading getting another TV box. Anyone have good experience with LibreElec or a similar distro? I am thinking of getting some sub $100 USFF from eBay

I still have fun memories of typing “going” in T9. Idk why but it 46464 was fun to hit.
I know, I’ve been trying to work on it. Moving furniture and throwing away things is pretty hard for me.
If one likes The Dollop, would they like BTB? I’ve been listening to the dollop for a few years now and always here BTB mentioned
My mom got me my first one in 2019 or 2020 because she thought it was cute (Guyfolye from Silicon Valley). A few months later she asked me if they were just Beanie Babies and I thought that was the end of it. Now every Christmas I get one even though she knows I don’t like them and we both snark on the super niche weird ones. She even got custom ones for me and my wife last year. It never ends, and I have 6 sets of beady little eyes staring at me when I’m watching TV in the basement.
Metal for the most part now. One of my cousins got into woodworking over lockdown and said I could borrow whatever I need from her (as long as she’s not using it)
Torque and breaker bar are my top contenders for stuff I will be using in the foreseeable future
Worth getting a multimeter and battery tester vs just a multimeter? Was planning on getting back into soldering and was thinking of just getting a good MM and using that for electric for home and car
I bought most of my stuff from there so far. A friend told me to look around forums to see what the “good tools” there are. I got mainly Pittsburgh tools since I’m just starting and they’re cheap, but is there anytime I should look at their more “premium” brands?
Took me awhile to find a torque wrench when I was working a few weeks ago. Wish I knew tool libraries were a thing!
My grandpa was a painter so I understand how awesome painters tape is lol.
I was gifted a 3FT level and have some long needle nose pliers. Got some flexible extenders at the store when I was buying stuff for the last project. A good headlamp or bright lantern is definitely on my list
I am starting to get that. I had to borrow a few things last time so I have an idea of what I need, but no need getting other things until they are in use.
No wrench set yet, but hoping Santa brings them this year. What should I be looking for in a set?
And I have a few flashlights after lockdown prepping. Looking to get a good headlamp now and lantern style light.
Milwaukee is one of the brands that has my eye for power tools. I’ve only used Mikita or Milwaukee power tools in my life, just because that’s what we were provided at an e-recycle/electronic refurbish shop I worked at years ago.
We all know this wouldn’t happen.
Whew that was a close one. I started reading comics again a few years ago and only have been getting TPB or HCs. Who has space for boxes of singles?
Bohdi is pretty nice. Needed a Linux test device at a job a few years ago and for some reason this was one of the only ones approved. Was pretty solid for the few times I needed to use it.
I brought it up with my family, my tech friends and coworkers and half the them just blankly stared at like I didn’t know what was happening. Both are important, one more than the other though.
That’s the difference from a good support tech and a bad one tbh. Bring able to gauge someone’s tech literacy and taking in all troubleshooting done before is literally the first thing you should do. So many escalations I’ve received just has “had user reboot, had them disconnect and reconnect to network. Checked and device has no pending updates, sending to L3.” in the notes. Half of the time a reboot really wouldn’t do anything, and they really just needed to be added to an AD group (most of my tickets last week). I’m just glad I’m shifting out of support and more into projects.
College health centers usually only hand them out to their students. Do you think people stop having sex after they graduate?
No but they can afford them with their easy-to-get high paying job due to graduating right? /s
No apologies needed, it’s been playing in my head once a week for the last few months
I loved that design as a kid and was so upset on the next release. Having fun colored desktops in elementary school then getting the flat chrome design going into middle school made me slightly sad tbh. I did hate the G3 mouse though.
