My father has been working on WikiTree for years now. He has traced one family branch back to the 1200s I want to say and he stays busy a few hours every day updating info he finds online about grave markers and historical family facts world wide.
It’s not going to be as slick looking as Ancestry.com but it’s got all the same info if not more and you don’t need to give them a dime (or any DNA).
I would suspect (just theorizing) you will see southern states and the more MAGA happy ones do exactly that.
Knowledge of any sort is seen as an affront to these people. Couples that libraries often present books that share different ideas.
Several years ago I was unlucky enough to be stuck on I40 going thru NC when this same thing happened and wouldn’t had believed it if I hadn’t seen it - or rather seen it a few minutes after it happened.
A tanker truck of gas hit an underpass and exploded (under the bridge). It got so hot - so quickly - it melted the bridge/beams/etc.
Traffic was backed up for hours before it was rerouted (our car included) and I think it took them a year or more to get that particular intersection rebuilt.
I smell a large donation to a certain Presidential Election fund on the wind.
He took ur jobs!!!
Rules for thee but not for meeeee!
Agreed. I clicked on the thread only hoping for some naughty librarian pics and was sorely disappointed.
Shame OP!!
Nearly 5k!!!
Holy cow.
Both me and my wife tried doing online courses for our Masters and ended up opting out that route.
Both of use found they were riddled with people who didn’t show up to the regular online ‘team meetings’ or wouldn’t contribute to the ‘team projects’ until the day of submission.
I know you have slackers in regular university as well but at least there, visibility and contribution is immediately noticed by the professors.
I would also argue that being hands on makes a huge difference in most courses.
Not a Trump or Musk fan but it’s safe to assume all government agencies do this to some degree even if minor.
The issue here is Trump and Musk will take whatever they find, however minor that is, and exploit it. They’ve been blowing everything waaay out of proportion and exposing every government secret they can in an effort to try and make themselves look good and others in the government look BAD.
In reality it’s only making the US in general look extremely untrustworthy to everyone else in the world.
But then again that may be the whole purpose of their little exercise.
Darn, beat me to it by a couple minutes.
Eh it’s not just in Texas. I got a coworker who married a Hispanic who got in with a green card then let it expire (she was here illegally with her family who were living here under the radar).
He worked for years to get her citizenship. Now that she has hers, they are the staunchest supporter of Trump and are against any kind of immigration at all.
I like to heckle him about it but it seems pointless because he always just gives me this ‘I don’t get it’ look - like he really doesn’t see the hypocrisy in their position at all.
Republicans do not want to assist in any way in child support - that word is taboo!!
Just wait until the results of the tariffs start hitting and companies begin cutting people to adjust for their ‘bottom lines’
We saw some of that several years ago in Trumps first term but it will be much worse this time as inflation is higher and so are the tariffs.
Oh shit! I was looking forward to seeing her back again in the new Buffy - assuming she would do it.
Horizon Zero Dawn looking more eminent any day now.
Ha ha, good point.
Easy solution would be for the state to show up with an AI generated video of him giving an explanation as to why he (Elon) has no clue what he is talking about and this is obviously the greatest law ever.
Or maybe take the opposite stance…lol
