All non-fiction how to books in print. The only novels I own are on ebook, via PDF on my phone. No number but just a few gigs worth. I can only consume novels in an audio book (narrated via app rather than an audio file). Chump change. Could estimate only about a couple hundred…You need about 5K according to ALA to be a library.
Sorry to tell you but American platforms/forums are as bad, if not worse. Anytime I say something that can be picked apart and destructively critiqued–it will be. There is no immune place, aside from a community or platform that only accepts positivity and removes or bans negative comments etc.
While the cutoff for training can be around a year or so, they can access the web now so it should have been able to know this, it can summarize, connect, extrapolate, etc any info it can access on the web. While still capable of hallucination, less and less over time, but OP probably unknowingly or knowingly gave it a constraint when they fed it the info, it might have taken that as only using said info, and existing training data, measuring new info against training and rendering false. Mentioning something like what is a major event that happened last week, it will give a summary of that with highlights then sources. Then you can ask it anything about those. Anything that it could do with its training data, it can do with this temporary data, then a new chat the web’s data is not preserved when you ask it a follow up. It initially uses training data only until you mention a recent time indication in your prompt, then it has the only choice of using the web, as long as it isn’t requested not to. There are some other phrases that may prompt a web search, it uses its best ‘judgement’ for this.
To each their own, looks like it did pretty well to me, not that it matters.
As I stated, i don’t really care. Never said it isn’t happening.
Lemmy apps: https://join-lemmy.org/apps. Good for desktop: Voyager. (Web app closest to mobile experience on desktop)
Best with a side of VPN.
did you forget that this is a shitposting community not a wholesome content community. I posted this because I wanted to make fun of it AND Reddit. Pointing out the obvious that I have seen in multiple places–not just news on social media, but my local news on TV, and many other places using a Reddit post–that is impossible to verify whether it was made up or not-as a source for ‘content’. But even if it was false and just propaganda, I don’t think the right are capable of interpreting this as you described. (I purposely don’t look for these connections because I make it a point to ignore politics as a whole, and even after pointing it out, I still don’t care).
There is not much stopping them. All the more reason to boycott. There are small trustworthy, non-politically-leaning news sources still worth using.
Why? Why should we?
I only keep my account for family and close friends. Occasionally I will see pages I follow. Every comment, just about, on that post is people either continuing the conversation for the Reddit post or a joke about the type of content. I figure, they get a lot of engagement when they first started doing this, and just followed the pattern to keep people seeing them in their feed. Same gimmick as the rage bait and the pseudo-wholesome content.
All major news stations are. They each push their own agenda.
It is a good distraction. But heck, I wish I could just copy and paste quotes from social media as a ‘journalist’ for a large company like that. It’s all the article was with only a few sentences from the writer. They pretty frequently post ‘everyday-type’ stuff like this.
No, it was just an article, primarily written by the aforementioned Reddit poster and the commenter. There was little input by the ‘journalist’. Now, I can’t say the same about the OP of the Reddit post. Maybe that had a hidden meaning but I doubt it. But it doesn’t surprise me coming from Fox, it is just funny they have nothing better to write about.(they do this often) On social media every day there is a story with similar merit as this one, they could just do this every day. My point. And still be watched/read. But it is for this reason, I keep following their page: to find humor in the comments.
“What did I say about using your powers? Trainee!”
The one where they are in the wishing well:
Squidward: can you not stand so close you’re making me claustrophobic
Patrick: why does claustrophobic mean?
SpongeBob: it means he’s afraid of Santa clause
Squidward: no it doesn’t
Patrick: ho ho ho
The real answer is that time travel to the past is never possible.
Okay, so there are flaws with this. There is first. Because it depends on whether in the future, the good guys or bad gouts see the communications first. If the bad faction of time travelers see the message first, they could come destroy the data. You could hope that the good guys see it later in the timeline and undo that by rescuing you with your data but there is still a circle effect going on. The bad guys can still counter the good guys and vice versa. An endless undoing/redoing cycle.
You place X amount of messages, but it is not specified how many enemies versus good time travelers there are. So it is impossible to know who will see one of your messages first, starting the cycle. Even getting the data to a safe place, someone in the timeline along the way can see your messages and go to a place to stop you from securing said data. It would be never ending. The idea is to let the good guys know without the bad guys if you go that route. If you rigged the messages cryptically and they ended up asking a question that only the good time travelers would know, giving them say a location to rescue you for this plan to work.
Other than Fediverse apps/websites, and F-droid for FOSS, I have switched to ProtonVPN and their encrypted emails.
