I have a strong preference for the German and Swiss types, but I think we can all agree that Japan massively fucked up. They took the already shitty American plug and just forgot about the ground.

Ibuthyr@feddit.orgto Technology@lemmy.world•Mastercard and Visa face backlash after hundreds of adult games removed from online stores Steam and Itch.ioEnglish1·12 days agoSounds great, but as with so many of these projects, they sound overly complicated for the masses. Wero is already a thing and it’s straight forward. Even that is too complicated for many people, but it’s gaining traction at least.
Anywho, I’m rooting for both!
Ibuthyr@feddit.orgto Technology@lemmy.world•Mastercard and Visa face backlash after hundreds of adult games removed from online stores Steam and Itch.ioEnglish31·13 days agoAn alternative to PayPal, called WERO is currently in it’s rollout process in Germany, Belgium and France. In October the next step will be activated, allowing payments in e-commerce. Later down the road, you’ll be able to pay in real shops. Luxembourg and Netherlands are to join in next. More and more banks start to adopt WERO.
I urge everyone to use WERO as much as you can. It’s flying a bit under the radar at the moment and this must be a success. Hopefully more EU members will join soon.
Ibuthyr@feddit.orgto Memes@lemmy.ml•But yet the DPRK is still "a threat to world peace"? Interesting 🤔😁1111·14 days agoSure, fuck America. But also, fuck North Korea, you know?

A method of communication that instantly conveys emotions and information, which you can even use while driving a car! How about that ey?
Ibuthyr@feddit.orgto Technology@lemmy.world•‘If I switch it off, my girlfriend might think I’m cheating’: inside the rise of couples location sharingEnglish2·17 days agoIt might have to do with how much Americans must work and sit in a car every day I guess. I suppose that sort of workflow makes sense. But then I’ll definitely chalk it up to America bad. Thats not a life I’d want to live.
Ibuthyr@feddit.orgto Technology@lemmy.world•‘If I switch it off, my girlfriend might think I’m cheating’: inside the rise of couples location sharingEnglish154·17 days agoWhat’s wrong with giving the spouse a quick call when they’re worried about them? Fuck sharing your location, what kind of dumb shit is this? If anything, sharing your location might actually make them paranoid in the first place, as they might try to interpret things in your movement. The hell is wrong with people? I’ve never heard of this behavior, is this something Americans do?
Ibuthyr@feddit.orgto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•We all know grammar Nazis. What incorrect grammar are you completely in defence of?4·19 days ago2 and 3 are horrible though. These completely change the meaning of a sentence :(

Ibuthyr@feddit.orgto Privacy@lemmy.ml•Reddit users in the UK must now upload selfies to access NSFW subreddits1·22 days agoBut then UK instances won’t be able to federate with non-UK instances, right? Can this even be enforced?
Ibuthyr@feddit.orgto Privacy@lemmy.ml•Reddit users in the UK must now upload selfies to access NSFW subreddits3·23 days agoIs that so? Why would anyone with an instance from another country give a shit about UK law? Honest question, I have no clue about these kind of laws.
Ibuthyr@feddit.orgto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Does anyone truly think times are better now than 30 years ago? (US)4·27 days agoI think a lot of the tech is responsible for the shitty life. Tech got better until perhaps end of the naughts. After that it’s just one bullshit excuse after the other to make devices obsolete as quick as possible. Plus the complete enshittification of the internet.
I’m just glad that decentralized social media is becoming a thing and the FOSS movement is huge.
Lautmalerei.
It’s just the German word for onomatopoeia (which also exists in the German language). It could be directly translated into soundpainting I suppose?
Ibuthyr@feddit.orgto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Lemmy, what's the meaning, or point if you prefer, of life? I know 42, but I'm serious. Nothing lasts, everything is meaningless - are we just amusing ourselves until death?3·28 days agoProcreation and survival. That’s what all living beings have as an instinct and that’s the only meaning behind it. It’s merely a mechanism to prevail and improve.

Ibuthyr@feddit.orgto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do some people want to go back to the 1950’s?1·1 month agoWhile I also liked the 90s, because that’s where the most pivotal part of my childhood took place, I’d never want to go back. That was also the time where air pollution was insane, older kids bullied little children and drank beer on the playgrounds, there was dog shit everywhere, car stereos were constantly stolen, cars were put on bricks to steal the wheels, litter was everywhere, people smoked everywhere etc. etc. Fuck all that. I just wish we could go back to pre internet times. Maybe the beginnings of the internet. That’d be nice.
Ibuthyr@feddit.orgto News@lemmy.world•Child dies after being left in hot car by mother who went to get lip filler: police51·1 month agoSure, you’ve read the manual of every rental car you’ve ever used. K, buddy.
You kinda forgot about the whole well-functioning society bit there.
