I always felt like companies publicizing dei stuff just gave ammo to the critics and opponents of the movements.
On the flip-side, it sounds like “The only reason we hire certain people is to check a box on some report. Otherwise, we’re entirely part of the problem.”
“DEI hires” shouldn’t be identified or identifiable in company culture or payroll. The existence of the label itself is discrimination.
Born to be wasted?
Tried it. Tastes like sunny D with alcohol in it. Wasn’t bad if that is all you wanted.
Bell telephone. AT&T was one of the resulting companies.
I tried getting help. Rejected by 3 therapists because I was not their target demographic, another called me three times after reading my ‘here’s why I’m seeking therapy’ notes to make sure I wasn’t a threat to myself or others before backing out, and the therapist I did end up seeing thought it would be a good idea to double bill the guy with ‘paranoia’ as one of his listed items. Didn’t walk the charges back until I stopped payment and appointments ‘until this is resolved.’ …and yes, I realize I may be the problem, that is part of the reason I sought therapy… But at this point, there are no non-‘christian councilor’ therapists for males with ADHD in my area that my insurance will pay for.
Have you heard the tragedy of pumping lemma? Have you heard the tragedy of the tragedy of pumping lemma? Have you heard the tragedy of the tragedy of the tragedy of pumping lemma?
Bun, brat, mustard, sourkraut. If there is a pack of malt vinegar in the drawer, that too.
Resontite doesn’t require a headset. It runs in desktop just as well… You just don’t get body tracking.
Meta isn’t the only VR space. Resontite VR plays like VR chat meets Gary’s mod, and supports most equipment you can hook up. It is not perfect but there are frequent updates trying to address the issues, same as any platform.
Model trainers used to be 2 wires to the track from a DC transformer. Add in a switchboard if you want blocks. Set the locomotive on the track and it would run based on your output from the transformer.
Now they are mostly computerized, and prohibitively expensive. A decent steam locomotive used to be $300-500… Now in the $700 range. Granted there is new functionality, but it feels like a hobby simple enough for a 7-12 year old to enjoy became an old rich man’s hobby.
What is the media’s obsession with cooling towers? Anything nuclear, cooling tower. Chemical company? Cooling tower.
They need to feed the audio to an AI bot so it can generate a voice that says what they want it to say for their attack ads and other social media garbage.
Who spent 2.1 trillion?
I thought this was partially coveref when neo asks for a physics book, and they tell him one doesn’t exist.
Nuclear power reactors built after the 1970’s. New generation (5?, 6?) for baseload. Mox, msr, lead moderated… Renewables can bicker over the transient loads while reactors provide the ‘always on, always needed’ bulk of power load.
Fuel reprocessing to close the loop would be the grail at this point.
Damages for who?
Someone else will get suckered into paying for it, I’ll get to keep MY money and the problem will be fixed.
Now, if the government is willing to pay me billions to fix it, I might be interested… /S
I’ll take D, but in no way was it Tiny Handed Felon Trump’s idea.
