Fellow WP enthusiast here, bought a wp7 on day 1. MS just couldn’t keep from fucking it up. Such a great opportunity with great phones, and soooo much more responsive than the androids at the time. But they couldn’t draw in the apps they needed, pushed to the wrong group of people targeting business types weirdly, and then they just kept ruining it with the updates. I miss the early WP days, and music wise I loved zune, it was so much nicer to use than the garbage that was itunes, but once wp got to 10 it started to lose a lot of the charm. I held on to the bitter end and then a little after. So fucking depressing.

Last time I used it is probably close to a decade or more now and I had the same experience.

Nuance isn’t allowed on the internet. Not just lemmy. Reddit was the same. Forums are the same. Hell if there was a forum dedicated to nuance, it wouldn’t allow nuance. Just pretend everyone is highly autistic and you will land more often than not.

Precisely why I want their attention somewhere else.

While it may, I almost wish they wouldn’t say anything about that aspect of it because I’m concerned about if it gets the wrong people’s attention they’d try to roll it back. Just want a win that they don’t immediately try to undo.

It’s not great food, but it’s far from the worst. I’ve had some truly awful food from restaurants that made me wonder hownthey existed. Olive garden is consistently meh. It’s not some place I would ever go willingly. But I know enough people are fine with meh. For some it is better than they get at home. And that’s why it’s still around.

Fair enough. I am one of those honestly and enjoy the range when I go. When someone talks about 2A people I generally take that as far right 2A at all costs crazy types

There’s a few normal people stuck here too.

Why would they? I’m sure they are happy with the result. A minority got fucked up and a cop was protected. They’re practically creaming.

Websites. I hate apps. I hate them trying to glean data from me, I hate then trying to shove ads down my throat while I’m already buying shit from them. I hate how I have to open a new app for everything instead of just another tab. I hate that many are tied solely to apps on my phone and refuse to use those platforms. I want to use my computer instead sometimes. Sometimes I don’t want to tippy tap on a small screen. I hate apps with a passion, they are a fucking blight more often than not.

AI is one of those things that’s stupidly overblown. The true downsides to AI are it’s uses in spreading misinformation and it’s enormous environmental impact. When companies are buying nuclear plants for enough electricity, the whole thing has gone off the rails. There are other downsides but those two are the largeat to me. In short though, we’ve nothing like true AI anyways so playing god is a stretch.

I don’t get how people live on 30k. They have to be a multi income residence. Even in the cheap areas, that is so little in this country.
