And naturally not everyone wants to pick English for the common language. If we’re picking one language people use over others, you’ll have French people wanting theirs picked and so on. So easier to pick a language that’s not the native language of anyone to sidestep that fight.

1·8 months agoI think another blog mentioned that you have to enable it yourself first and then press the AI button to send it to be processing. If that’s the case then it’s not that bad
I mean of course, I’m saying even adding more periodically. Just feels like always some gets through
If you spend 8 hours in the sun, the sunscreen doesn’t seem like it helps entirely.

2·8 months agoIt just means you’re excluded from a lot of stuff or just aren’t messaged to. Which is a choice but big groups especially are just going to use what most use, they aren’t moving to Signal because someone refuses to use something else.
Would be cool if they were meaningfully interoperable, private and secure. That’s the dream

2·8 months agoI could see this being handy in a car or in a super busy group chat where you need to know what they’ve agreed on during the 200 messages you’ve missed.
I can see reasons people might use this, though I probably wouldn’t myself

7·8 months agoI mean you are pressing a button to send them to the AI. It’s like clowning on how Signal messages are supposed to be private and can’t be read by anyone else, while you yourself are sending a screenshot of the conversation to others. Or inviting a journalist to your secret group chat…
The dubious part is the claim of privacy in Meta’s AI.
They always argue that they’re not actually attracted to children just drawn depictions of… well uhhh
