Eh. I lost any interest I had with Linus after the whole Gamers’ Nexus thing, and I’m definitely staying away after hearing what Louis Rossman had to say about the guy.

90% of the complaints I’ve heard about GIMP are just because its UI and workflow are different from whatever tool they’re used to. I like GIMP just fine because I learned on it. I

-1 for intel macbooks. Horrible cooling and poor hardware support. Source, I own one.

Maybe it’s not so great how monolithic systemd is, but it has brought a lot of great functionality to the Linux world. Not as if Linux has ever been married to the Unix philosophy anyways.

“I like getting fucked over” is a weird thing to brag about but aight

The GPL already forbids distributing without the source code being available. People who break GPL will break this license too, and they will have even less resources to fight it. I wish people would stop writing their own licenses and just get behind the GPL. There’s already tons of lawyers familiar with it.

No thanks. The 4 freedoms are essential.

People with money will always find a way to run away from consequences.

Safest car in the world that can’t even avoid a fucking Looney Tunes wall. Sure.

Linux isn’t a product sold by a company. If they’re still thinking that somebody else is responsible for how they experience their technology they will not have a good time with Linux. You have to be able to take responsibility for your machine, and in our society of learned helplessness, people would rather give up that responsibility for perceived convenience.

Probably schoolwork. I don’t have high computational needs, and these work better than modern Celerons.

I’m personally not a fan of permissible licenses, but you don’t need to bring your fetishes up in every conversation.

Its driver manager is better for newbies. Worse for experienced users though imo.

This isn’t Debian’s fault! It’s purely an Ubuntu/Canonical problem. Debian’s only apt by default, no snap.

Meh, it’s just internal politics. Whether or not it’s rust makes no difference to the layperson whatsoever. I’m in favour of rust but don’t blow it out of proportion.

Rust is already as fast as C and memory safe. The reasons people don’t want it in the kernel basically amount to being a boomer that doesn’t like new things for immaterial reasons. Rust has already proven itself capable in mission-critical applications like drivers.
