That’s fair. It would be a mild inconvenience but I would just connect my server to the HDMI on the tv. Maybe load up some USBs with music as well.
Probably about 80% addicted. In saying that though, if there is no internet for whatever reason I’m fine. Everything is self hosted on my local network, eg Jellyfin, Mealie, Navidrome. Plus a bunch of games and an Xbox. I don’t find it hard to keep myself occupied without internet with other things too like cooking, gardening, exercise and organising.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Who was the biggest Karen you have encountered in Public?
15·1 year agoThank you. No way I was giving her free stuff after she spoke to me like that. I’m not encouraging that behaviour.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Who was the biggest Karen you have encountered in Public?
13·1 year agoNot a lot. I had a customer witness all this who also told the manager. So while the manager was on my side, he didn’t say much as to how to handle it.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Who was the biggest Karen you have encountered in Public?
58·1 year agoAt one point I had a job handing out sample chocolate at supermarkets. I was setting up my stand. This was during covid, so we had to disinfect everything, set up a clear shield on the stand, plus put on gloves and hand out chocolate with disinfected tongs. I also had to get changed into my uniform.
I said I’ll give you some if you come back in five minutes as I’m still setting up.
She lost her mind. Started calling me a fucking bitch, bad sales person, that she knows the owner of the chocolate company and will get me fired. Complained about me to the supermarket manager. When I went to change into uniform she was following me around still carrying on.
After I had set up she came back and said I’ll have that chocolate now. I refused to serve her. I said sorry I don’t need to take your abuse. She responded by saying you’re the abusive one lol. Wild.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What movie did you watch as I kid which you shouldn't have?
9·1 year agoI think I was about ten and an older girl down the road showed me and my friends Pet Sematary. There was a scene where this creepy ass girl chokes in bed and that scared me for years. I slept with the light on and was too scared to roll over in case she was in my bed. It’s probably so cringey now though if I was to re-watch it.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is something you SHOULD cheap out on?
3·1 year agoOn board with the thrift shops! I got a $250 brand new wok for $10 and it’s the best one I’ve ever used.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Help, looking for laser printer recommendations, rough around 100-200 range?
2·2 years agoBrother laser, they’re workhorses and toner lasts ages. Can also buy off brand toners.
I’m a Double J fan, going to have to look into the other ones you’ve listed. Thanks!

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is it a bad idea to introduce a new kitten to a house where there is already an older cat?
1·2 years agoThis is how I did it, except I did it with three female cats aged 13, 12 and 8. It’s rough at first but now they have an “understanding”

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Are seagull sounds relaxing or annoying?
12·2 years agoRelaxing because it’s nature and the sounds of other beings doing what they do to survive. If you find that annoying then I don’t know what to say.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the most on-the-nose or strangely objective name that you have heard?
4·2 years agoThere is a AFL player called Patrick Dangerfield. Great player too.

Close, but it’s a hardware store that has a charity stand out the front which sells a “snag in bread”, or also called a sausage sizzle, cooked on a bbq. Your options are a snag in sandwich bread, onion, tomato sauce (ketchup) or mustard. Freshly made with the cheapest quality ingredients.
