  • Personally I’ve started buying generation or two behind high-mid range phones as refurbished. I get a highish end phone for about what I used to pay for a lower end phone. There are better materials which go into higher end devices (I learned this when I worked for a phone manufacturer. Kinda shocking but also makes perfect sense at the same time)








  • Trailer homes can be a very affordable path to homeownership. In rural areas it’s not an uncommon choice to find a plot of land and plop a manufactured home on it. They don’t have the same kind of staying power or value that a site-built structure would have, but it opens the possibility of getting some land and a home separately, especially if you buy an old one that needs some work and move it (and even moreso if you can do some or all of that work yourself)

    Living in a trailer suggests more wealth than renting at least











  • Elon Musk clearly has enourmous skillset at managing startups from their early stages though their explosive growth stages. He’s successfully done so both with Tesla and SpaceX. Unfortunately his management skills are clearly incompatible with running a large company that makes up a notable portion of a market. He should have stepped away from Tesla about a decade ago (possibly as much as 15 years ago). He should have stepped away from SpaceX about 5 years ago. He should be known for growing a promising disruptive startup into a true market player then immediately handing the reigns away and moving onto the next startup, but his ego is simply too big for that, and he doesn’t seem to have the introspection to see the damage he’s doing to the companies he built up
