Still a net reduction though, a lot of those crops go to feed cows, pigs and chickens so if you remove that step and just eat the crops far fewer animals get killed

Anyone know why the article says on a scale unseen since the First World War? I would have assumed since the second world war given the scale of that conflict. Did WW1 have more amputees than ww2?

I think the worst part of it is that its not actually hopeless, at least not in theory. It’s just that we, or more accurately the people with actual power, refuse to act because it would mean slightly less profit.
