Ear buds or IEMs typically have a much higher sensitivity than full sized headphones. The higher the output power of your PC’s headphone out, the louder your earbuds will be at any given volume %.
There isn’t anyway around this except to manually change the volume whenever you use your earbuds.
30 is way too many. Ideally, you want about 4-5 parties in order to maintain a healthy democracy without getting bogged down.
Either way, the two party corporate duopoly of the US ain’t it.
Immediately after October 7th, there were various sensational and outlandish claims made by Israeli officials that babies were beheaded, put into ovens, murdered in their nurseries, and generally singled out and made to suffer with intentional violence. Since then, no evidence whatsoever has been provided to substantiate these claims and the majority of them have been dropped completely.
UN records indicate that one baby did actually die along with her family after Hamas fighters opened fire into a safe room in Kibbutz Be’eri (page 10), but there were no recorded cases where multiple babies were intentionally targeted and killed in the way that Netanyahu describes.
None of this is to diminish the atrocities that were committed on October 7th, but it is telling that Israel and Netanyahu in particular seem dead set on making the events on that day seem as barbaric as possible in order to somehow justify the large-scale massacring of men, women, and children that is happening in Gaza.
And yet again we have congress members clapping like trained seals to debunked Israel propaganda and the characterization of anti-war protesters being in favor of the killing of civilians.
“My friends, defeating our brutal enemies requires courage and clarity. Clarity begins by knowing the difference between good an evil. Yet, incredibly, many anti-Israel protesters choose to stand with evil. They stand with Hamas. They stand with rapists and murderers. They stand with people who came into the kibbutzim – into a home – the parents hid the children, the two babies, in a secret attic. They murdered the families – the parents. They found the secret attic and then they murdered the babies. These protesters stand with them; they should be ashamed of themselves.”

This is 2003 Iraq War levels of state-approved disinformation. I feel nauseated.
Trump did; it’s a matter of public record. He violated court instructions about blabbing to the media ten times, and was held in contempt by the judge twice.
He repeatedly make false and misleading statements about the trial, the judge, the witnesses, and even the jury on social media and to the press in the entrance hall of the court building itself. The idiot just couldn’t stop himself.
Had he been a regular citizen instead of a former president, he would have almost certainly done jail time just for his behavior during the trial.
Mastodon has a major engagement problem and I’m not sure why.
It has significantly more users than Lemmy but also manages to feel a lot less social, somehow.
According to research, the space between letters is more important for people with reading disabilities than rotational distinction.
Typefaces may affect web accessibility, but if you want to provide a better experience for readers, Comic Sans isn’t the only option. The best practice is to use a widely available font with no extra decorations or flourishes.
In addition to Comic Sans, the British Dyslexia Association recommends Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, Century Gothic, Trebuchet, Calibri, and Open Sans.

As are many other sans serif typefaces.
It’s acceptable in the following contexts:
That’s pretty much it.
I’d argue it’s the opposite. To most of the people who attacked the encampment, Palestinians are just some faceless brown Arab people half a world away, whereas the protesters are the SJW/Marxist/Anti-Americans who are ruining America.
The former, they are more or less indifferent to; the latter, they really hate.
Hoo boy, I can’t wait to see how the State Department try to spin this one.
Edit: who am I kidding? It will be “Israel has admitted this was a mistake and we believe they remain committed to minimizing civilian casualties”.
Edit2: Ah, no. Turns out they instead played the “We are waiting for the results of Israel’s investigation into its own actions” card. Was a 50/50 chance.
In the video, the CEO specifically claims that the device contains a proprietary AI that can do all sorts of things, when in fact it appears to be ChatGPT with a bunch of hard-coded scripts slapped on top. If that’s indeed the case, then it would be an obvious scam and most likely fraud.
I’ve personally had issues with Fedora’s version updates - once with Fedora and another with Nobara (which is Fedora based). In both cases, dependency conflicts broke the update and they were a considerable pain to fix. It was enough for me to switch to a rolling release distro and never look back.
I use https://huggingface.co/chat/, which is an open source alternative to ChatGPT.

I’m seeing exactly the same thing. Certain companies re-listing the same position for months on end, despite hundreds of people applying.
According to this article I read recently, some companies are either doing it to give the illusion that they’re thriving and planning to take on more staff, or just to keep a pool of potential applicants on the back burner just in case.
It sucks. I’ve been looking to make a career change for over a year, and have only had two interviews despite sending out literally hundreds of applications.
That reminds me of this real exchange in the Missouri state legislature regarding the “Don’t Say Gay” bill that banned any mention of “sexual orientation or gender identity” in schools.
You’re fine as long as you don’t decide to jump in and offer a contrary opinion.
According to this YouGov poll of least <> most trusted news sources , CNN lands bang in the middle of the pack. So not as bad as FOX, but not as high as PBS or ABC.
As for my own 2¢, all the US cable news channels are varying degrees of bad. Best to avoid, generally speaking.
