At this point what data is even left to sell that hasn’t already been sold? All my info is out on the dark web already.

There’s already been a pretty huge drop in port traffic, like in the raw number of containers being shipped in. We should really see some changes over the summer.
I’m amazed how the Internet allows people to watch videos of how they make cocaine and they still try it. The process is pretty gross. The main video I remember shows them mixing up the leaves with gasoline.
Edit: You folks getting so triggered about cocaine need to settle down with all the ‘whataboutisms’
Let’s be honest, Obama is at least partially responsible for the USA being in the situation it is now. We don’t need Obama again, we need an actual left candidate that will actually fight for leftist agenda items, like Medicare for all, and not double down on W Bush policies and kill thousands of people with drones.
Obama ran on a left leaning agenda with major grassroots support, then dismantled that organization and governed as a center right Democrat.
This is a big reason why I continue to cringe whenever I hear one of the endless news stories or podcasts about how AI is going to revolutionize our society any day now. It’s clear they are being better with image generation but text ‘thinking’ is way too unreliable to use like human replacement knowledge workers or therapists, etc.
As somebody who’s data was compromised during a previous OPM breach,I have been telling folks this would happen from day 1. These guys are all clowns, probably using free accounts on Box or other filesharing sites to store sensitive data.
My money is on them not returning him. They will either claim they can’t find him, he’s been moved to some other facility and they can’t find him or there isn’t any proof he’s actually there at all.
That name of the building is the backstory I was referring to. That was a headnod to what was actually happening with Japanese investors moving in and buying up a lot of American real estate. I think that’s when a Japanese group bought the Plaza hotel in NYC for example and when Sony bought a movie studio (renamed it Sony pictures, but I think it was CBS movie division).
Gung Ho, staring Michael Keaton, is another movie example.
This is all just Japan from the 80s all over again. There are a bunch of movies from the period with Japan as the bogeyman. The peak probably being the backstory of Die Hard.
The key difference this time is the USA was paying for Japan’s defense, had a massive military base, etc. China doesn’t have that problem, so they can counter American demands with their own demands.
Interestingly, look at interviews with Trump from the 80s, he’ll talk about Japan almost with the same language that he uses for China now. The most famous was probably an appearance of Trump on Oprah.
Even if Trump removes every tariff a recession is almost certainly coming. Short to longer term planning, hiring, building, etc will certainly slow down and that kind of things is widespread. People lose jobs, people don’t get hired, people choose not to start a business or invest money in the USA, etc.
Sorry to bust your bubble but that won’t happen. Walmart is infamous for drowning people that sue them in litigation until they are bankrupt.
She’s free to sue them for sue but that at best will get her a small payout that her legal bills will immediately consume. That’s only if Walmart offered her a payout, I’d say in this political climate and in Florida they would just grind her down.
Lol, I didn’t say any of that. But it’s a fact Goldberg has been a mouthpiece for the State department going back to at least the Iraq war in my opinion. He’s not a Trump guy but just doesn’t want to piss off any current administration so he won’t lose his access.
The reporter is a former IDF soldier, there is no way he would face any real blowback from Trump. There is a reason they had his number to add to the group and it’s because they were already feeding him information. The Atlantic is just a left coded mouthpiece for the State Department.
I did read the article but saw several mentions of texting, I was under the impression Signal was just another texting app.
TIL that the US military texts around sensitive plans, reporter aside, SMS is not a secure protocol to do this.
It’s messed up how low my federal student loan interest rates were. I was paying my loans off in the early 2000s and I swear my interest was only like 2%!
I don’t think anything that they did to this lady was legal but for her to attend the funeral and then admit that to the agents seems like a exceedingly bad decision.
I’m kinda mystified why you’d attend a funeral of such a figure, take a bunch of pictures of you there(?), and fly back to the USA with the administration currently in place and not expect a shitshow. Is this an extreme version of ‘don’t talk to the cops’ or was this lady just very naive? Even as a US citizen I’d probably wipe my phone before flying back to the US just to avoid anything weird popping up if it was searched.
The kids are just the easy targets but don’t let that fool you, there are several people in their 40s and at least one guy in his 60s.
It’s sad that even the idea of a very high tax rate for even the top 0.1% is off the table. I really like the suggestion of capping net worth at $999 million and the government gets the rest.
Netflix peaked when it was supporting shows like Dark and Mindhunter and drove off the cliff since. My wife will subscribe for a month to watch a new season of a show like You and then cancel it again. That’s versus back in 2017 when I just had the subscription all year.
