Amazon has 3 for $33 sales a couple times a year. I just got Wicked (2024), F1 and Sinners in 4k for $11 each.

When 4K players cost $500 to get something considered “good but not great”… yeah no wonder no ones buying

Early 2000s to mid 2010s movies shot digitally? Sure. Film shot movies, especially on 35mm or larger, absolutely look better in 4k. Especially when they’ve been restored from the negative and converted to HDR for a 4k release.
There’s a lot of older movies out there where the UHD Blu Ray is the definitive version to own, looking significantly better than any prior version (and will likely never look better).

I dunno I’ve still yet to see ads. Between Smart Tube Next on my TV, Firefox with uBlock origin on my computer, and AdGuard + Vinegar on my phone, nothing gets through, even with their latest efforts.
I just hate being near those things in general. Pass as quick as possible and create some space.

Unfortunately, my living room TV has only HDMI in, no DP. I tried the adaptor route, but it was horribly unstable… sometimes providing perfect signal, sometimes cutting to a black screen for a second or 2, every 5-10 seconds. Either way, VRR is wholly unsupported by the adaptor.

Just installed it at the start of the month on an older PC for a console-like experience in my living room. Only 2 issues really have me disappointed (and I’m not sure there’s much Bazzite can do about them)
No HDMI 2.1 support from my AMD card (like seriously, wtf? Had I known that I probably would have dropped a 9060 XT in instead of a 9070XT)
No real wake in controller support for my FlyDigi or Xbox Series controllers. I’ve messed around in udev and found no solutions.
If they can figure those things out, I’d be much more impressed with the experience…. For now it just feels like another FOSS compromise to the product you actually want (PS5 Pro)
Yeah my Father in Law basically has this… but significantly nicer (4bed, 4bath, full kitchen, running spring water, off-grid solar+batteries), up a mountain, surrounded by pine trees, with StarLink internet.
It’s amazing when we can go visit for a week or 2
We need some Lemmy gold or something, so we can get the “thank you kind stranger” comments lol

Thought the same thing. And so many upvotes, too

Couldn’t even read the short summary…

You just turn it inside out and wash with cold water and soap when needed. Then dry in the sun.

What about a bread bag? Like the kind Keeki makes? Thats what I use.
Where would those fall?

Sure, we could say viscous liquids can use mass. I’d say most liquids with a viscosity close to water will be easier to measure out by volume than risk over pouring when going right into weigh boat / mixing bowl.

All solids should be listed by weight.
All liquids should be listed by volume.
SI units only. (Grams for solids, mL for liquids)
More graduated cylinders and volumetric flasks in the kitchen please.

Feel like the summary was missing the key detail as to why he was arrested:
The woman and the Tesla driver “exchanged words” before he got out of the Tesla and assaulted the woman and her mother, 35, who was a passenger, police said. The Tesla driver then fled.
Ah, yeah makes sense
But commenter is right. Just cuz it’s in the same city doesn’t mean it’s the same quality. If they’re made with the same components, that’d carry more weight than simply being made in the same city.

HDR, or Dolby Vision? From my research, anything less than the Panasonic UB820 either has missing features, or longevity issues.
Even still, 180 euro is well above the under $40 you can lots of DVD and even Standard Blu Ray
Personally, I grabbed a MakeMKV compatible UHD optical drive from eBay for $150, and just remux my discs to Plex… and then use CoreELEC on the Ugoos AM6B+ to ensure proper Dolby Vision and Lossless Audio support…. but I know that’s not exactly a mainstream option.
