Just gonna say I’m fine with people owning guns. I just think the courts have interpreted the amendment very generously. More so than any other amendment by far.

My point is that the courts have been taking the most generous possible interpretations of the 2nd amendment.

An individual is not a militia, yet every citizen can own a gun based on the generous interpretation of the courts. Even if you aren’t in a well organized militia.

Open carry? They read the 2nd amendment and thought it said individuals should be allowed to open carry for any reason at all.

These are generous interpretations of the second amendment. But for the first amendment, the courts are much more eager to limit rights.

He went after big tech as a punishment for fact checking the bullshit coming from his administration and his followers. That was it.

Now that all big tech has turned away from democrats (probably as punishment for their antitrust lawsuits), we will see a much different perspective from the Trump administration.

They didn’t even mention individuals having the rights to own guns, but god damn they had to add that one to the second amendment through the courts.

Our old government waited nearly 3 years to bring this lawsuit forward, and only did so days before Trump will take over. A fail all around to me.

Makes you wonder why the prosecutors wasted all their time and tax payer resources just to recommend zero punishment. At least fine the dude in the amount he defrauded people.

Definitely an unpopular comment to make in this thread, but from what I read at the time, most people don’t get jail time for first offense of this type of crime.

Of course, most people don’t hold press conferences outside of the courtroom bashing on the judge…

The classified case is still stuck in congress. I suspect that will never see the light of day.
