Yeah it annoyed me that you have to use google contacts
It’s been out for a long time with limited access and nothing yet. Maybe Apple will change their mind toward it when it’s being used by a large group of people finally. Hopefully not.
Edit: I was wrong. See below.
I don’t think they implied that they would switch to Apple. They just want off android so bad they can’t wait for the new Linux mobile OS
Wow crazy detail. I’ll read it when I get a chance lol. I stopped at “I’m a single tasker” I recently learned about the term “monotropism” which is so me.
From what I have read regarding RCS it seems you are not wrong. I also read the tech it’s based on is ancient.
It does look like the prices changed recently. I have 2 houses currently with similar plans. My currently living in house is using the Xfinity modem and costs $25 /m but I guess that’s the modem and the unlimited so not too bad.
My other house has my own network system and not using any Comcast hardware and that one is $30/m.
The bad part for me was until recently they refused to give me unlimited (when it cost $50) and I wasn’t able to get it for a while. It just wouldn’t go through. I got my fair share of overage charges cause of it. I’m sure if I spent enough time bitching at support I could get something from it but I don’t have it in me to do that lol
Comcast has been doing this for over a decade I believe. By default their routers advertise a hotspot exclusive to other Comcast subscribers. Not sure the security behind it since it’s not technically a password just authenticate via your Comcast account. But I agree it is crazy lol I had a similar reaction when I first found out.
Yeah states with Comcast caps you at 1.2TB unless you pay $50 for the unlimited plan, which I don’t think is even offered everywhere. They discount it to $30 if you use their modem.
So true. I am happy I met my SO on tinder. Doing that data chart to see the numbers of my using tinder vs the only match who I went on a date with. The numbers are not in our favor. Now didn’t they release a 500/m plan? It is crazy. I know how lucky I got.
Yay for ublocks annoyance pop up blocker. No more cookie pop ups
Why is it creepy? Apple is trying to do this with iOS too. I’d love to not need to care my ID now that I barely even need a wallet anymore. Though now that I started using sling backpacks I am back to carrying a wallet more often lol
I miss the IRC days. The only reason I even use discord is for information and support from companies or groups that only use discord. I really wish the things I follow would move away from discord but it doesn’t seem likely.
I use arch.
edit: lol while I am new to arch, I guess I kind of expected people to disagree with me. I was under the impression that stock arch is very lightweight? I know there used to be jokes about “I installed Arch” cause it’s supposed to be hard. But I installed Arch on my desktop and server recently, I did the manual install on my desktop and the guided install on my server. Both super straight forward. Plus Arch seems to have some of the best documentation across distros. I don’t know why it should not be suggested, unless I am missing something.
I love arch. I want to switch to NixOS for my home server but I think I’ll be sticking with arch for my main I see no further reason to switch.
This is explained in the article.
Would this let global menu (plasma) on Firefox work better under Wayland? I remember someone saying that Wayland was the reason it didn’t work.
I wish I could. In a situation where I’m basically paying for 2 houses on top of my family.
Everyone’s different idk. I myself love command line. I have enjoyed Linux for a long time but it didn’t really become my daily driver until recently. I find it very rare that I use the GUI for more than gaming and watching stuff. Everything else is command line. I’ve had friends refuse to try Linux due to the “requirement” of needing to do stuff in command line. When I showed them some newer distros that appeal to users who don’t really feel comfortable with command lines.
