The whole TikTok thing is a complete shitshow from start to finish. The whole effort to ban TikTok started because bunch of kids organized and trolled Trump by mass signups to his rally creating whole lot of empty seats. Democrats went along with TikTok ban because they thought they can use the guise of protecting American citizens’ privacy and national security as means to score cheap political points. Neither political parties actually care about citizen’s privacy because if they did they would have passed a comprehensive data privacy law that covers every social media platforms long time ago.

Apparently some Trump aid has advised him that he can look like a hero by rescuing TikTok and win the hearts and minds of the youth. Do I think Trump cares about free speech or welfare of people who make a living off of the platform? Hell no. It’s all political theater.

From looking at how TikTok is behaving as the deadline loom ever closer, it’s very suspect. If they are actually motivated by profit then one would think they’d be scrambling to find a buyer but they seem completely disinterested in that. It does appear their motives aren’t about money but elsewhere. And then all of a sudden there is an exodus to a Xiaohongshu (RedNote or Little Red Book) app which is heavily censored Chinese lifestyle propaganda platform. Maybe I’m being cynical but this feels a bit “influenced”.

When all is said and done I think TikTok is just fishy as hell. Also what I can take away from all this is at least some of the users of TikTok are absolute morons that are easily swayed by misinformation and propaganda.

I think he will scam this tariff money through this so called “external revenue service” run by his cronies that will also get a cut. Billions will get funneled to his offshore bank account. Sadly press is all in his pockets so we’ll never know. The whole thing sounds like a giant scam.

If those robo taxes are working off of similar system to their half baked self driving tech, it would be a disaster. I keep seeing videos of Waymo taxis clogging up the streets of San Francisco and those things have much better suite of sensors than Tesla. It’s insane that our public road has become a alpha/beta testing platform for bunch of tech bros.

It boggles my mind why anyone would still be holding onto Tesla stock right now. The board and the Musk are actively trying to screw them over right now and one judge barely managed to prevent shareholders from getting shafted. How does it make any sense to hold onto Tesla shares at this point?

With the current state of streaming services mess, I think I would have signed up for disc rental by mail. Access to nearly 100% of media at highest quality for around 10 to 15 bucks a month seems like pretty good deal right about now. Sadly Netflix killed that part of their business so I can’t even go back to that.

Five to ten seconds wait for a voice command kills any chance for this being a viable product. If they can’t bring down the response turnaround time to two or three seconds, this product is dead on arrival. It’s not worth discussing anything else until they can do that.

US military is definitely aware of this obvious problem and they’re probably in a planning stage of building out their own low earth orbit constellation of satellites that they fully control for military use. If I had to guess they’ll contract with Blue Origin to build out this architecture. Elon is shown to be a security liability at this point with alleged drug use and conflict of interest with countries deemed adversarial to US.

What they could go after next:

• Porn
• Contraception
• Vasectomy
• Divorce
• Interracial marriage

Apple did remove Parler from the App Store in the past due to lack of moderation. It did not end well for Parler. I don’t know how badly it has gotten over there on Twitter though. Is Twitter reaching the Parler level of toxicity yet?

This seems like a really big deal. The obvious downside is the cost but hopefully that will come down over time.

Go F Yourself meltdown is probably the final nail in the coffin. It does seem like space nazi knows it’s doomed. Anyone know what happens when bankruptcy happens? Does creditors take over the company? Does he get sued for negligence? Does it get sold to a highest bidder for pennies on the dollar? I’m hoping someone can enlighten us.

He doesn’t seem well. He sounds like someone that desperately needs help. Even though I think he is a giant piece of shit, I hope he has someone around him that can get him some help. Perhaps selling Twitter or just shutting it down could be part of the solution. If nothing is done, I’m afraid this guy will end up as a case of drug overdose or suicide.

Number of people have contacted Louis Rossmann and asked him to stop calling this app open source because it simply fails the definition of open source and his response has been very lacking. Clearly he doesn’t understand what open source is and now he is knowingly misrepresenting this app as open source. He seems to want the legitimacy and credibility that comes with open source but not want to let go of the control that needs to happen for open source to function. This is very disappointing and I’m staying far away from this product.
