  • He also died 235 years ago…

Like, if you asked any of those “great thinkers” if people 200+ years in the future should still be relying on their opinion and not a single one would agree.

Humanity’s greatest strength is exchanging ideas and building on them, the rate we do so has skyrocketed since then. So much shit has changed that what people said back then should really only be useful on trivia night or when learning history.

If it’s still applicable it means we stagnated, and that’s a bad sign for society.

We should understand the framework and what came before, but under no circumstances looking to them for literal guidance from the ancients type shit. We live in drastically different worlds.

  • Then you are overly optimistic about the state of the American insurance system…

You think the people owning millions of dollars of stock don’t understand that their profits come from denying claims and people dying?

They’ve normalized that and their social circles 100% do not have us in their “in group” because since birth they have never interacted with people who aren’t wealthy.

We are not people to trust fund babies

We usually talk about the in-group/out group split like that with ethnicity or even religion, but it can develop along any line, and for generations has been there a long economic lines.

They would see nothing wrong with making the statement:

the public backlash prevented the company from pursuing “the aggressive, anti-consumer tactics that it would need to achieve” its earnings goals.

For a recent example, look at feudalism, the royalty were separated from commoners due to privilege and for pretty much all of them they started looking at them as a cop.pletely different species with zero innate value.

It only ended because wealth inequality started to decrease leading to the merchant class providing an opportunity for social mobility that rivaled lesser nobility.

But wealth inequality has been going the other way for a while, we’re already seeing the wealthy act like feudal lords again. I know I went on a rant, but c’mon, the rich are 100% out of touch enough in 2025 to make that statement and genuinely not expect anyone to be upset. It takes effort for them to acknowledge we’re also human, so sometimes they just fucking forget.

  • The group, which is seeking unspecified damages, argued that the public backlash prevented the company from pursuing “the aggressive, anti-consumer tactics that it would need to achieve” its earnings goals.

“As such, the Company was deliberately reckless in doubling down on its previously issued guidance,” the suit reads.

They really just fucking said it…

This economic system is openly hostile to the vast majority of us, the only choice we have is if we participate in it, and that’s not really a choice. Inflation is used to force people into investing, it’s literally there so people don’t just put money under the mattress to save for retirement.

There’s other ways than letting the wealthy do anything and everything they want to everyone else. But it gets harder every day to change it

  • I was under the impression Isreal was Jewish. If they are all of the same faith why the infighting

Lacking on details but first of all, not everyone who follows a religion agrees, it’s widely assumed to be a bogted statement when someone implies the opposite.

    But there’s two scenarios:

    1. The students are some kind of rightwing sect and the people who are actually being drafted to commit genocide got upset

    2. The students were just honestly celebrate but identified as “other” by rightwing Israelis and attacked.

    Also:

understand. I was under the impression Isreal was Jewish. If they are all of the same faith why the infighting? Was this just a matter of children becoming too rowdy in which case why bring up ethnicity at all.

None of this has anything to do with ethnicity, a lot of Israelis (and certainly a lot of Jewish folk) are not ethnicity Jewish.

You’re asking questions, which is good.

But you’re asking very basic questions, and almost all of them are assuming the same stance as white supremacists when talking about Israel.

So wherever you’ve been getting your info, find a new way

  • Article only takes it back to 2008…

Around 2003 Cincy had the largest race riots since 92 in LA. But it goes back waaaaay farther.

After the civil war the fighting didn’t stop in border states, but most of the people who fought were over the fighting. So ex confederate soldiers moved from Kentucky to Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan.

They largely put the war behind them when they moved.

However some didn’t and founded racist groups in those areas, and generations later all someone knew was grandpappy fought for the South and they’re manipulated into the “heritage not hate” excuse them fullblown white supremacism.

But that’s the reason the Midwest has oversized issues despite being Union states.

    Quick edit:

That Hatfield and McCoy drama started because each family fought for a different side, and one killed another after they returned to the same area.

Most people have heard of that feud, but aren’t aware it was happening all over in border states where it really was neighbor versus neighbor, and sometimes brother versus brother.

  • Their parent label, Rhymesayers, had most of the drama.

    https://www.brooklynvegan.com/atmosphere-respond-to-minneapolis-hip-hop-scene-abuse-allegations/

The worst shit was (under the parent label, Rhymsayers) Prof and Dem Atlas. Like, actual rape and putting women in the hospital:

Dem Atlas’ reported ex-girlfriend wrote on Twitter, “The first 2 people u ever dated / loved getting called out for being rapists and abusers in the same day is a weird feeling. Even tho it’s true.” She also shared an old photo of herself in the hospital with a bloody nose, her arm in a bandage and injuries to her face. “TW domestic violence: You’ve had these pictures for years, but here’s a reminder,” she tweeted to the Rhymesayers Twitter account. “You knew this happened to me within hours of it happening. I was always josh’s crazy gf. 2 years late is better than never I guess.”

    https://honkmagazine.com/prof-dem-atlas-accused-of-misogyny-sexual-misconduct/

So they got dropped from Rhymesayers.

Prof just kept doing what he was doing and making music under a different label.

POS was just, well, kind of a POS. He lied and cheated, and would say what it took to get laid. However, he did the adult thing, admitted his faults and apologized, then stepped back from music to work on himself. Which ended Doomtree as a group.

Dessa is the only one from Doomtree making music. But it’s been like 5 years, I’m ready for POS to come back. As far as I know, nothing he did was illegal. He was just running around being a fuckboy.

Most people in POS’s position, would have handled it like Prof.

  • Tainted evidence is tainted evidence…

Like, if the state illegally finds proof you committed a crime, so they can’t use it, that doesn’t mean the feds get to. So let’s say the stuff in his backpack was already in there, and there is some plausible explanation for all the “smoking gun” evidence to not have been noticed till like 11 hours later…

No one can use what was in the backpack if they were led to it via illegal methods.

It’s just inadmissible and the prosecutors have to deal with losing it if they can’t show a parallel investigation had a reasonable chance of discovering it.

  • If they found him via legal means, then that’s the way they would have said they found him

A mystery man telling a woman at the counter to call before leaving minutes before swat moved in would just be a huge coincidence.

They knew he was on the bus and where it was stopping and they prepared for him.

But hey, maybe I missed something. But as far as I can remember law enforcement lost the benefit of the doubt a long time ago. I just don’t trust the police in general at this point.

  • A cynic would say they intentionally choose a minimum wage worker to fracture the working class.

Especially with trump in office and the pressure he’ll put on the DOJ, this trial could be a breaking point.

If it comes up the cops (more likely feds) set that up, it’s not only going to get Luigi free, it might actually lead to the 99% fighting back in the class war that’s been going on here longer than America has been a sovereign country.

trump won’t be able to handle Luigi walking free, and he’s gonna over reach

  • After a five-day manhunt, Mangione was arrested at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He faces state charges in Pennsylvania for allegedly carrying an unlicensed firearm, forgery, and providing false identification.

And if they located him via illegal means, none of that is admissable…

That’s the chink they need to hammer on.

The woman who “called it in” did so because some random man walked up to the counter, identified Luigi to the worker, told her there was a large reward and she should call.

The chances of that truly being a random person who recognized him, and wanted him turned in, but didn’t want to make the call themselves is astronomical.

And that’s not getting into how unbelievable fast the response was.

Whatever means they actually used to locate him, they can’t say. So you hammer their unbelievable explanation and ask the jury if they believe it, or if it sounds like a cover story.

It blows a giant hole in the prosecution’s case, and raises doubts about the entire investigation

  • I think it’s a very strong case in terms of him doing it. I think it’s going to be hard for them to argue that it wasn’t him or that it was unintentional,” Rahmani said. But, in the public perception, “he is a very sympathetic accused murderer”.

They don’t have to prove he didn’t do it…

The government has to prove he did. And they have to provide evidence and disclose how they got that evidence.

With the pressure on finding someone, it’s likely they didn’t obtain all the evidence legally. If they used illegal means to find him, Im pretty sure that taints any evidence found on him.

The article makes it sound like jury nullification is his only shot, but there’s a very good chance the prosecution can’t use a lot of their evidence unless they make up a very good story about how they might have legally got it.

  • With the way Antisocial Personality Disorder is worded…

If Nazis were in power and you said you’d be ok punching a Nazi to stop them from deporting a US citizen to a death camp…

You just qualified for a diagnosis.

Actually fought back? Even if it was just showing up to a protest?

    Also a diagnosis.

And that’s just what would actually qualify as a diagnosis, they’d just lie about all types of shit.

Like, they’re clearly not fans of due process, it’s completely plausible they’d have judges or even “law enforcement” rubber-stamping files and claiming it’s real.

They can (and looks like will) throw any random label on anyone to justify their actions
