yeah, just that I like the protocol design better. also GPG isn’t that great, so maybe sending files encrypted with ssh or age(or lxmf uri messages)

1·4 months agoI agree that with linux, once you’re in, you’re in. there is virtualization but that’s annoying and slow, or ig you could not use internet(pretty much impossible) or very strict firewall rules, and then use some kind of proxy but that would not be a problem if it were hacked, and would resend the data but maybe fromna reader mode, which you could display with a minimalist browser.

1·4 months agoI doubt openbsd supports the fp4, or even the pinephone.
that’s why I said ‘ideal’…
yeah, the solution is to use a provider which is not a company.
SS is a weird name but ok.

9·4 months agothe year of the linux mobile has come!
POP is better than IMAP, the emails get deleted from the servers.
the thing with proton is you don’t really know that they’re private and they pretty much always collaborate with the police and their android vpn app collects some data that it doesn’t need to. I would suggest you:
- don’t use email, that’s the ideal solution
- use a provider like cock.li and send messages encrypted with pgp. this isn’t ideal, pgp leaks a lot of data and cock.li gets sinkholed by most email providers.
- use proton and encrypt emails with pgp, you have not much privacy but it’s less worse than microsoft and not much convenience loss, except that proton doesn’t allow email clients(at least if you don’t pay), I don’t know about ms).

2·4 months agoso, GSI is just android with fast updates and the possibility to only have foss or have no apps? that’s not what I need, I want a system with microg or nothing instead of google services, only foss apps but ideally no apps preinstalled(that, GSI can do) and also privacy features like microphone and camera blocking. I think I’ll just use lineage, or install a real linux on it.

51·4 months agoI have a fp4 and it is VERY annoying to not have jack(I don’t wanna use bluetooth because jack works, doesn’t need a battery and is low tech), so now I only listen to music on my computer, but I’m planning on making an mp3 player with a raspberry pi pico.

kind of sad how these kinds of websites use cloudflare. not much reclaiming going on there!
