I haven’t even started, god I hate those time travellers.
I ran from Reddit, it be like that
I haven’t even started, god I hate those time travellers.
lI can hardly count the number of times I was overseen, forgotten, passed, etc all because I was too friendly and non-intrusive. This meme is very true.
By Kashmir Hill, always well written articles.
Will, shall, are going to

The cost savings will be immense, productivity and innovation will no longer be impaired by incapable self centred arseholes playing political games, … I can see that working.
Excellent summary.
I will not put it inside. How else are adventurers going to loot?
Thanks, bought a few too
I am very sure Trump does not actually think, at best he works based on instinct, but so does his chaotic band of mouth-breathing, blood-seeking raging insurrectionists.
Or it is protection money. “Nice apple you got there, would be a shame if anyone took a bite out of that”….
A portent from the heavens! When a Musk approacheth the big strong Trump, he shalt be quite hot and poppeth early!
This is both the power and curse of the fediverse: your instance is your own, but also everything you do is out in the open. There is no central authority. People can move around instances and communities (or create those themselves) if they feel unfairly treated.
This is not necessarily true. When using private windows on a clean browser, YT is prone to supplying “relaxing music”, which is apparently very popular. For some reason, the creators of these videos seem always eager to slap pictures of scantily clad young ladies on them (maybe that’s why they’re so popular?).
FWIW, you do not seem interested in an honest discussion, merely arguing in bad faith or trolling.
Yes, but solar cells are in the end very simple products made of very simple resources, with a limited task: concerting one type of energy into another. That said, there is still research in making them more efficient and cheaper, and the that research isn’t cheap.
But generative AI / LLM takes an insane amount of resources to train and maintain, is complex to create, with a very complex task, and a slight increase in quality takes progressively more resources (like, say 10% better would be 50% more energy use - I don’t have the numbers anymore but iirc they were even worse). A better LLM would therefore be much, much more expensive while people are apparently already underwhelmed with the latest models.
With the growing competition, fast rising costs and meagre quality updates, while already unable to financially sustain themselves right now, I truly don’t see it. Honestly, this is why I think Microsoft is cramming their subpar Copilot into everything - to sort of justify all the money they pumped into this.
I am honestly very very curious: how?
Hahaha. April 1st is early this year.
They are never going to make enough money by selling licenses and subscriptions for the cost of their current models (smarter people than me have made good estimates), let alone the future ones. Those future models are at a much worse performance-cost ratio. Ads will at best bring in about 1 usd per user per month (estimated by Facebook revenue and number of users) - double or triple it just for lolz, and they would still be losing money.
So… how will this be pulled off? Only wrong answers!
I’ll leave it as it is now, but you are probably right.
Andy will one day find out that, in the eye of the magat beholder, he is nothing but yellow. I hope he enjoys getting spent as the token he has become.
