Recently installed office 2000 via bottles/wine on linux. The installation was so quick that i thought it crashed.

I read the article but am not smarter than before. I heard some time ago that windows does encrypt the drive but you need an active online account and the key will be saved online. So do people forget their online passwords and methods to recover that said account? I dont like m$ and am using linux, but people loosing their passwords, being uninformed about their systems and dont so backups is not the direct fault of the operating system.

I know. Mint mostly stands for the cinnamon desktop. If you choose mint for another, you probably just can use the specific ubuntu spin or even debian itself.

I want a simple desktop with small elements to maximize real estate for windows.

While using a top AND bottom bar on the screen. Thats exactly my humour. I am specific about that, because its what confuses me the most about many gnome distros when they so that. The vertical space is the most important one, don’t waste it with additional bars.
