Still way more dangerous than just not chasing. A traffic violation is not worth putting the lives of any bystanders at risk.

A calorie and a kilocalorie are the same thing when talking about nutrition/exercise. Which is 1000 “small” calories.
Strubb’s pickles. They are supposed to be back under a new owner, but I still can’t find them in any local grocery store.
Fetchez la vache!
I’m getting tired of people putting survival over standing up to the system.
That’s a pretty privileged position to take. “Hey you, poor person, you should die so I have the opportunity to benefit from the system changing.” Is that any different from what CEO was doing?
Does a McDonalds worker lose anything by not turning the guy in?
Yes, $50k.
I’m not trying to justify it. I’m just pointing out that a year and a half salary is a pretty strong incentive. That is the opportunity to quit your job and not worry about money for a couple of months while you look for a better job. Whether you work at McDicks or Xitter, I understand the appeal of that. And I think a lot of people at least consider that.
Maybe after a certain point even those trying to survive should share the blame for the negativity their contributions bring.
This transaction feels like a bribe to keep the poors in check.
I mean, yeah. That’s the whole point. But I still don’t blame the individuals that are also victims of the system.
$50k of a reward. Probably over 1.5 years of salary.
Just use KDE?
It is just KDE though. Its just a plasma skin. But what you get by installing Wubuntu instead of a proper distro, and then applying a skin, is supporting a developer with a history of bad security practices and poor behavior. Not to mention the potential copyright issues. This whole project will probably die when Microsoft realises that someone is using their name and trademarks to sell a competing project.
Even if you have 100% confidence in your own provider, you also need 100% confidence in every other recipients provider, which is basically impossible.
gone downhill imo since the Nexus 6
Nexus 6 was released October 2014. That same month, Moto Mobility was sold to Lenovo. So its not just “in your opinion” that was the start of the reduction in quality of the Moto brand.
Its called enshitification. Its a process that’s been happening in all areas of tech for a while now.
My point is that this flight wasn’t $100 out of $1000. It was $999 out of $1000. If the engines burned for a couple of seconds longer, it would have been a stable orbit. But their intended orbit was eccentric and had a low perigee, so that it would reenter after half an orbit.
Are we talking about the same flight I watched today? It made it through re-entry and made a controlled, powered, soft splash down exactly where it was supposed to.
Saying a suborbital flight is a partial orbit is like saying a cessna can partially achieve hypersonic velocities
Starship reached over 26000km/h, it had enough energy to be in orbit if it was in a circular orbit. The orbit was intentionally left eccentric enough that the perigee was within the atmosphere, so that a deorbit burn was not required.
This is a cessna going mach 4.99 and you’re being pedantic enough to say it was not hypersonic.
I agree with the rest of what you say though. As fun as it is to watch, Starship is over budget and behind schedule. Elon has over promised (pronounced “lied to get government subsidies”) on timelines and capabilities so much that it may jeopardize the Artemis program. Which makes me mad.
That’s my point though? Making the decision to drive under the influence and getting stopped by the police are completely separate events. And you only have control over one of them.
Or just don’t drive high
Now add in the cost of a car
WALL-E
Single family, detached housing on otherwise empty lots, in a low density, residential only suburb is not affordable housing.
