And c-suite pay should be capped at a multiple of a company’s median employee pay, I’m not going to pretend to know what the multiple should be but there should be a tie in somewhere. Varying industries make it hard to set an overall standard, but even seeing it to whatever today’s highest ratio in the s&p 500 would be a start.

I overlooked reducing workforce as a possibility. I’m not in the corporate world at all so I have no actual insight on anything. I’ve just been confused by something I’d consider a win-win being done away with by a lot of companies.
Can anyone explain to me why companies are pushing RTO? Simply to justify some management positions? Or justify the big buildings they built? To me work from home would have so many advantages for a company and could actually be problematic for some employees. Not only can they save some costs on office space but it opens up their talent pool in a way that could lower wages. They could find someone living in low cost of living middle of nowhere that would do a job for 60k that someone in an expensive city couldn’t justify doing for less than 120k.

I suppose it makes some difference how far East to West you are in your timezone too, but this time of year I’m dark on my way to work and dark on my way home, if we were still in DST I’d have an hour of sunlight still after work. It’s only about 6 weeks that are that extreme for me but I’d still prefer DST. And I love the long summer nights when it’s light until almost 10 lol

I’m not sure how it works in every state, but in mine rabies testing is covered by the state but kind of requires a doctor visit, (and the animal to be tested) to get the ball rolling. I think you could also go straight to the sheriff. All of that to say i went to the ER for a minor bat bite, and to make my PSA statement that if there is even a sliver of possibility that rabies is possible, don’t ever assume that a minor animal bite is no big deal.

I feel like Europe would offer way better finds than the US. I’ve only ever used one to locate electric lines, but i definitely can’t imagine discovering any of your impressive finds in the USA especially where I’m at in the Midwest
Isn’t it dumb that if I Google “Amazon” the top result is their ad and the next is the same link without the ad? Would make way more sense for the Amazon’s ad to be the top result if I googled “Wal-Mart”
Like a random intrusive ad? No, but when I Google something simply to go to their website and their ad is the top result I often decide if I like them more or less than Google before deciding to click the ad link vs the regular search link (I assume they pay Google a little extra for ad clicks). Amazon gets the ad click most others do not.
