This could be work or recreational related. Anything you’ve done that you sit back and go “hell yeah I did that”. I’m typically wary of working on cars because I have big hands and no auto specialty tools. But, I was able to make a pretty involved (for me) repair last week and I’ve felt really great about it since. What about you?

I wound my own common mode choke to reduce noise in the power line for my mobile radio

When I get depressed or stressed, I tend to withdraw hard. I’ve ghosted friends for months at a time before. The guilt that comes with a relative ghosting makes it really hard for me to reach out again and usually I instead just let go of the relationship.
But I had a frank conversation with someone I recently withdrew from and it feels like there’s still a friendship there for us both. So it’s tentative and covered in bandaids, but we’re on good terms again.
Your friends want to hear from you or they’re not your friends. Simple as. Reach out, I’m sure they miss you :)
It takes a lot of guts on both sides to have a conversation like that. Good for you, keep reaching out, we need people like we need water.

congrats on the car fix!
I bought a Pentium II 450Mhz Dell tower for $40 at a flea market recently. It was in great condition except for missing a hard drive. Installed a 32gb ssd with a SATA to IDE converter kit and installed Windows 98. It works! This was my first time doing something like this.
Looking for a good graphics card now. I want a VooDoo 2 but those are like $300 on ebay.
You’ll be playing Unreal Tournament in no time!
Yo, I just set a Dell Inspirion 4600 out on the curb. Free! No HD. It’ll run Linux.
Somehow I managed to get inspired and created/published a few medium content books (aka puzzle and other oddities in niche areas) online. Actually sold a couple somehow, but if they don’t do well that’s okay. Trying to work on a real novel now. Not really a writer at heart, but have fallen in love with an idea and the deeper I get the more I want it to succeed. Ironically I took a break from the writing part and played around with cover ideas and character envisioning. Was better at that since I’m a graphics person, and finishing that side trip inspired me to jump back into the writing.
Finished this lil guy 🖖 Probably the last job of the year

HELL YEAH LOVE STAR TREK.
You do some beautiful work. As a kid I collected a few of the metal miniatures from the board game, loved them. Models don’t have to be big to capture the imagination.
Is this printed or carved?
Carved :) oak and brass
Very cool and impressive!
