Donald Trump told The Wall Street Journal in an interview published Thursday that he takes a higher dose of aspirin than his doctors have recommended, blaming that for the visible hand bruises that have generated renewed questions about his health.

The interview appeared to be one of the most extensive conservations Trump has had with journalists on his health, as scrutiny has intensified this year over his age, fitness for office and whether he’s being sufficiently transparent with his medical information.

Trump has long had bruising on his right hand, which CNN has reported predated his return to the White House. But it drew more attention after he began trying to cover it with heavy makeup and bandages and shield it from cameras with his other hand. Observers have also raised concerns about swelling in his legs and his appearing to doze during public events.

He would remove most tariffs and the economy, because it was already short of picking up before tariffs, would bounce back and likely do well. Because of that he would likely be looked at as making things “better“ and then we would end up with another 6 years of MAGA republicans. Because of that we will not see him in any legal hot seat. It’s just wishful thinking. Nothing in the last 10 years has shown it would turn into anything good for the “left” rather than just backfire.

And the last 10 years have been dominated by trump, trump is politics.

Also the damage is done, it would take decades to repair what was done. Its not just a switch, especially with extent they have gone so far. Trade deals have been ripped up, basically all soft power was eliminated by DOGE, government has been looted, new trading relationships have been established between nations, nations are starting to turn away from the dollar. And all that debt won’t go away.

Prices don’t go down. The US stock market is propped up by GPU sales to people who can’t even use them and the assumption that they will keep buying more even though it’s near impossible to even obtain the energy to plug them in, let alone have a real use case for profitability.

Whoever is in charge after Trump is going to have real work. It will take terms before this is repaired, if it even can be. Realistically all this comes down to is a need for a massive redistribution of wealth. And it would all technically need to happen with Congress driving it.

If the next few elections see an increase in Progressives in the House and Senate, and they spend their first efforts crushing and purging MAGA from the government and our society, then we can at least start turning things around. But we will never fix this country, or even get on track to do that, if we have MAGA constantly giving everything to the Sociopathic Oligarchs.

I agree with your sentiment, but American voters only care about whatever happened in short term memory. I’d love to believe that somehow Trump has that level of a hold, but I don’t think he does if he isn’t here. I think his supporters move on, and I think if Vance is in power it turns worse for all of us given history, but I’d love to be wrong.

I mean one of us will be proven right eventually. Because if Trump survives and if they even do a primary we will see if Vance can win.

The sad reality is that things are on track to get worse for Americans no matter who is in charge unless there is some miraculous change in Congress which would require sweeping wins for Democrats 2 election cycles in a row and a shit load of corrupt dinosaurs on both sides being primaried.
