Edit to add my opinion so I’m not just replying “I agree” to 90% of comments. I think it should be legal, properly regulated, taxed and viewed as a profession. I haven’t personally engaged in it but I have no moral objection to it. I do hate the common sentiment that it was the individual’s “only option” though.

    Any form of prostitution will inevitably end up putting vulnerable people at risk. To make it legal just makes it so that the abuse has a higher evidence requirement to see justice done. Keeping it illegal means it’s an action of last resort - ensuring that only the most vulnerable people get caught in it.

    We need active enforcement against it. We need to make sure that no one is in a situation where they believe their only value is their body in the crudest way.
