Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•We all took foreign languages in school and none of us can actually speak those languages
1·1 month agoWell, I tried to makes fun of you missing the million unit there, hah.
And to be honest there’s virtually no one actually speak formal Indonesian in daily life beside media/government stuff. Excluding the capital most city will speak their regional language especially older folks.
It’s always funny hearing newly learned non-native because the grammar is so easy and consistent but they sound like a rigid ancient soap drama to my ear.

1·1 month ago300 didn’t seem like much tbh. Source: am Indonesian, or as we called it Komodos
In no particular order
- Frieren
- Natsume’s Book of Friend
- Tanaka-kun is always listless
- Hunter x Hunter (2011)
- Seitokai Yakuindomo
And if the rest of the season is as good as the pilot episode, Journal with Witch. I’ve been waiting for the episode to comes out so I can hear what Asa was singing before the Bieber joke. It was delightful.
Eh, I’ll throw Sword of the Demon Hunter there aswell. I’m in my mid 30s so I don’t really care about battle scene as much, though I wish it got better animations. You could say the story is similar to Frieren, though not as tight.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Ignoring the internet bill itself, how many paid online services do you have?
3·1 month agoI don’t think you need to justify your purchases to anyone.
And I think most of the answer is probably who frequent [email protected] so if you’re interested take a look at that

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are your favourite non-political Lemmy communities?
3·2 months ago[email protected]. I want other people besides me to post there more often.
I didn’t see any post there? Is it just on my end ?

I love the silly early to middle phase. The late game mechanic always bored me (IIRC haven’t launch it in a while).
I want spore with more involved prey predator mode, let me be vicious goblin.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was something that you thought was overhyped that actually lived up to the hype?
2·7 months agoWould you mind elaborating on your experience? Why was it exciting ? What came through your mind at the time ?
I’ve seen a solar eclipse but I’m in elementary at the time and didn’t care for it. Now I wonder if it must have been kinda terrifying the old human thought their God was mad.

Hi, from the future. I just look up “oled wallpaper” and pick this one 3 years ago.

4·10 months agoI also do this. But I do not necessarily think it as a bad thing.
I do not need to finish the book in one sitting, it’s fine to wander, I usually just just went on a tangent on a relevant topic though. Reading for an hour is fine, as is a 5 minute session.
Maybe immersing myself reading books just not that fun for me. But I can sit for hours studying music even without touching my instruments, just reading the chart and analysing the harmony and what not. I think reading like any other skill, needs training and I just haven’t give it enough time.
I’m a late millennial, and like it or not I’m used to being able to access relevant context and information with just a click (like Wiki).
I’m also on this camp. I get the significance, but I think I just didn’t resonate with what they wrote, and the “old” production.
Here and there I found a great version someone else performed and was surprised to find it’s a Beatles song, then I heard the OG and went “yup, still not for me”.
Nintendo games, by comparison, are worth more than the slop that Ubisoft craps out
Agree, I grew up with Playstation up until the ps3. I have never owned a Nintendo console my whole life and the only Mario games I’ve tried is the O.G back then, but it’s clear to me that Nintendo put better effort into every bit of design of their IP release.
I know the Jazz scene would go nuts over a “Mario Kart Lick”, and I never played Mario Kart even once.
The only thing stopping me from owning their console is the lack of regional pricing.
I just searched for what cryophilic means, it didn’t mean what I think it means. I thought it was ice cube lol
Petition to change wireless mouse to frog

They bloviate about a future beyond the moon. To bring about another planet’s doom
To discover peaceful life and beat our war-drum to its tune Unless my prayers are answered

Protest the Hero - Sequoia Throne
The rest of their discography is fantastic, but their lyrics in this album which penned by their former bass player is just another league.
